The Big Agnes Little Red 3 season sleeping bag has an integrated pad sleeve that keeps your kid, on the pad, all night, stopping the dreaded midnight roll onto the cold ground where they will become chilled!
The newer design improves the connection with the pad and allows a roomier sleeping space without the added bulk. The sculptured contour allows the bag to drape around you to increase insulation performance. The insulation is provided by M4 synthetic insulation with a shingled construction to eliminate cold spots. A contoured hood follows the shape of your head and a low profile cord lock allows the hood to be uncinched with one hand! The mummy-shaped bag has all the bells and whistles. A draft collar and zipper draft tube stop unwanted cool air.

PRO-TIP#1
Except for the warmest nights, our kids wear some form of a base layer to wick moisture and keep them warm if they wiggle out. No cotton as it does not hold heat! Merino or a good synthetic base layer is best. If we expect a cold night we will bump it up to a fleece layer for added insulation.
PRO-TIP#2
We also allow a stuffy from home and/or a blanket. This gives a feeling of home and also takes up a bit of space to keep the bag warmer. If the bag is a bit longer or wide stuff an extra blanket, jacket, or clothes to take up extra space.
PRO-TIP#3
The Big Agnes Sleeping bags DO NOT have insulation on the bottom where the sleeping bag connects to the sleeping pad! They are designed this way! A good sleeping pad on the bottom is needed for insulation! Like all sleeping bags, it is the sleeping pad that gives you the insulation. Insulation on the bottom side of sleeping bags tends to be compressed under your body weight and does not give you much insulation. Big Agnes has removed the bottom insulation to save weight and also allows more insulation on top where it is needed!
